Finally it’s my turn! It was amazing how the preparations were over just taken over by God and we just enjoyed the moment. This is the blow by blow account through pictures.. this may be a long read! Hope you get blessed by it. I’m engaged! woot! It’s gonna be kinda weird to be in front of the camera!

Tine and I have known each other for about 5 years already and 2 and a half of those we’ve been together officially. I’ve always wondered when would be the time when I would propose to her, and finally got the nudge from God to go and do it! I talked to my parents to ask for their blessing and also from Tine’s family. The preparation for the engagement happened before my trip to Hong Kong back in July where I was already scouting for a ring, I had help from my former couple Caliber and Paula and later on Pooh (Christine Ong-te) for nailing down a supplier for the ring. My mom also came along our trips to Ongpin to help pick out the ring design and type of stone. ( I now know the different colors, clarity and karats.. haha educational stuff)
Also a side story about the ring was that it was supposed to be priced way higher than the price they gave me after I had it made because they made a mistake, but they sticked to the price that they originally gave me! sweet blessing for the wallet
I wanted to propose in September, but alas I got hospitalized so things got moved back.. God showed He wanted to control the time as well! For Tine had super straight shoots during September and it would probably won’t be the best time. When I looked at October I said to myself wow when here.. so I checked Tine’s calendar and cross checked it with mine and I looked for a weekend date because I wanted our families to be there as well. Oct 24 was the only remaining weekend date on my calendar and it was a few days before her birthday! Perfect! What was more perfect that I didn’t know that it would be a long weekend and that monday would be a holiday! How about that?
After the ring was where… Originally I pictured it to be an engagement that would involve the presence of both families and coffee. So I originally thought of Hamilo Coast where my uncle could endorse us. I loved the walkway there to the sea. But alas they would not allow dogs.. So we started to look for other venues with only a few days to go for the 24th. I flew to Iloilo for an engagement shoot and was on the island of guimaras with no signal for 2 days so I couldn’t coordinate with my family as much as I wanted. But God was already taking care of things. My sister who was supposed to look for a beach place for her barkada to go to over the weekend found a rentable house in punta fuego. They decided on a different location and my sister was left with the contact number for the house and it was available for Sunday to Monday!
I then shared this to Achi Jen, Tine’s sister who I talked to on Friday, 2 days before the 24th to finalize the plans. When I mentioned Punta Fuego, she then remembered that way back (10 years ago to be exact) when Tine and her first visited Fuego, Tine loved this certain spot by the cliff and said to her sister that this is where she would like to be engaged someday! And that spot was Fuego Point, in Fuego Peninsula where the house for rent was!! AMAZING!
This was the spot..
*** UPDATE: Tine and I found the picture she had 10 years ago on the same spot where I proposed!!!! wow!! here is the pic!
With everything set, it was time!! The plot was that Tine’s family were to go to Tagaytay for a family outing and would go on a side trip to Fuego. I got coffee the night before because usually when Tine goes out of town where dogs are not allowed, she leaves coffee with me. My family and I then went ahead to Fuego to prepare and the idea was to tie the ring on coffee and wait for Tine to come down to the cliff and have coffee run to her.. and that was it pancit!
I was really touched by my parents who prepared lunch for everyone, snacks, drinks and all… Super lucky to have them as my parents..
Here’s coffee getting prepped! Was glad that she was not irritated to have a ring tied to her back hehe!
This was the house that allowed us to hide our cars and we walked to Fuego Point.
I think by now my heart was skipping beats and beats..
Waiting for tine.. it was hot during this time!
Here she comes! I shed some tears when I saw her come down.. good thing I got shades to cover it.. hehe
It was hot during the proposal but afterwards the light evened out and it became breezy! So you may think it was a serious proposal right? haha better check it in this mini video that Cedric made:
