I couldn’t have pictured that one day I would get to shoot the wedding of John Mateos Ong and Monique Lopez Ong. Jong has been a great mentor, leader, friend and supporter in and out of the studio. A big chunk of where I am now in my wedding photography I owe to him. When we arrived in Boracay it finally sinked in! Dizzizit! With a big group of wedding suppliers all gathered for the wedding, it was an atmosphere of pure excitement and anticipation! Everyone generously helped in making this wedding one of the best I’ve seen. And true to the engraving on the rings of Jong and Monique, In Christ Alone, indeed! We were blessed with great weather, awesome company and a whole lot of FUN! Smiles and cheers just drowned Boracay. And the party lasted till the wee hours of the morning! Let me just share some of the highlight photos that I took that day. The rest are all in FB hehe.

Now here’s an interesting story to tell. Back track about maybe a year and a half ago I met Madz when I visited my friend Peggy (the one who designed my blog site) and she practically interviewed me about my photography hehe! She wasn’t in a relationship yet but she said that she would get me as her wedding photographer when the day comes. Imagine my surprise when a few months after I receive a text from her that she’s engaged already! Now fast forward back to the present, may 11 09 I got to shoot their beautiful tear-jerker wedding!

Brian and Wig’s wedding finally! Gosh this wedding was filled with miracles. One big miracle was the weather! We were at the center of a signal number 3 storm just the day before the wedding. People though have been praying hard! And we woke up to bright clear sunny blue sky the next day! God is awesome! The venue of the wedding was nothing more than spectacular! La Playa was a sight to behold with every nook and cranny designed artistically and tastefully! A sort of Bali style mixed with intricate Filipino architecture. We had tons of fun shooting the preps and details! Well enough talking and let’s get on with the pics! This will be a long post! Enjoy!

Welcome to paradise!

Did I say that we absolutely had a blast shooting the details?

I met Wig back in Isabela about 3 years ago as we stayed in their house during a youth camp that I volunteered to help out.

Brian on the other hand I met back in a singles retreat that I attended in 2006. He has super long hair back then! And he became my breakout leader.

Wig’s gown was actually from her sister. Beautiful!

I love beach weddings!

Now it’s time for Wig to finally walk down to the beach!

When a father hugs her daughter just before they walk down the aisle together, time kinda stands still for a few seconds. One of my favorite moments to capture and I think a lot pips captured it too!

Whew that was a long post! The next morning we had breakfast with everyone by the beach. Everyone was wearing white and we gathered them up the rocks for a group shot.. yowza!

Pangil Beach Resort

We arrive at the resort after lunch, settle in, take a long nap and wake up for the LUAU!!!! haha The day was gloomy but at around 6pm, the sun suddenly showed itself and let out a glorious sunset skyline! It was my first time to simply stare into such beauty! We just had to grab Brian and Wig for some pics! Awessoooommmeee!!! Afterwards we prayed as a team together with the couple for great weather the next day and thanked Him for a glimpse the sun!

The families organized this Luau for as a treat for everyone who came. And my gosh was it such a feast!! I’ve never seen that much food! And to think this was just a pre-wedding party! haha! Let me walk you through the pics below..
